Come celebrate and honor the incredible work of Georgia’s Black Community Doulas!
About this Event

You're invited to the 1st Black Doula Day Conference Gala!

Goddess Birth Sisters is a resource collective of traditional, indigenous, and holistic Birth Keepers. It is our intention to always respect and honor the ways of our ancestors. We are NOT your average doula collective. We do not walk lightly on this path. We are here to shift the Black Maternal experience by creating a safe space to help families prepare for birth, celebrate the postpartum experience, and get connected to the proper resources to help them live a full and sustainable life.

What is Black Doula Day?

Coined in 2022 by Okunsola M. Amadou with five-honorable proclamations designating every April 11th as Black Doula Day™. This year will mark the 2nd official annual Black Doula Day™. Black Doula Day serves as a platform to raise awareness about marginalized communities who often face disparities in healthcare and advocate for improved access to quality maternal healthcare for Black women. By recognizing the vital role of Black doulas and addressing the unique needs of Black families during pregnancy, Black Doula Day strives to promote positive birth experiences and better outcomes for Black families.

The Georgia Black Doula Day Conference: Presented by the Georgia Black Doula Network and Training Institute, to bring together Black doulas, healthcare professionals, and community leaders to discuss the importance of culturally competent care in maternal health, particularly for Black women. The conference provides a platform for networking, education, and advocacy, with the ultimate goal of improving birth outcomes and reducing health disparities in Georgia.

The gala will be open to Birthworkers, community health workers, their families, and the community. We intend to create a space of royalty and excellence to celebrate the wins and accomplishments of Georgia’s Black Doulas. Join us on the red carpet, to celebrate and apprecaite all the amazing work our Black doulas provide. Enjoy the gallery of Black birth workers, soul food dinner, and live entertainment.
