Sir Claud Amory has invented the formula for an atom bomb. Invited to Sir Claud's country house, Hercule Poirot and his friend Captain Hastings arrive to find the formula missing and a dead body in the drawing room - not to mention a group of guests not exactly distraught at the passing.
