Our vibrant annual celebration of one of Jersey’s most cherished culinary traditions, Black Butter is back! (or Lé Nièr Beurre in Jèrriais)🍎 What is Black Butter? 🍎
Black Butter is a rich, dark apple preserve made by slowly cooking cider apples with sugar, liquorice, and spices in a traditional copper bâchin. It’s often described as “Christmas in a jar” and has been part of Jersey’s heritage since the 1600s.
