About this Event
Black Boys Better is a program presented by Creative Connection, a nonprofit organization serving all of Georgia. Black Boys Better is focused on providing black male youth mentorship and skills to more affectively manage anger and mental health stressors.
We are inviting black males ages 10-21 to attend. Fathers, uncles, big brothers and mentors are also encouraged to attend.
This LINK UP will consist of several workshops that will address anger management, emotional intelligence, trauma, grief and how to be a friend to other black boys. They will also participate in a poetry writing workshop to learn a creative way to cope and express. The workshops are facilitated by clinical Psychologist Dr. Curtis Jasper and License Practicing Counselor Darius Washington.
The guest keynote speaker will be Dr. Terrence Roberts, member of the 1957 Little Rock Nine who has spent his career being a director of mental health facilities, educating on college campuses and being renowned speaker across the globe.
Our host and director of BLACK BOYS BETTER is Chris James, youth mental health first aid instructor and anger management specialist.
