About this Event


Celebrate Black Birders Week at Shirley Chisholm State Park with a FREE exclusive guided hike after the park closes its gates. Join the park educators in hiking the trails and watching the sunset from the highest point in Jamaica Bay! Learn about the birds in the park, and experience the changes that happen from day to night.

Binoculars and flash lights will be avliable to borrow, but feel free to bring your own!

This hike will take place on from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. The hike will be approximately 2 miles long on gravel trails. Please wear shoes you are comfortable walking in, and bring water!

Registration is REQUIRED for this event, since it takes place after park operating hours.

This program is held after park hours on the Fountain Ave Side of the park. You cannot enter the park on the Pennsylvania Ave Side.

Registered participants will receive a reminder email that requires a response to confirm participation. Tickets will be forfeit if we do not receive a response by noon the day of program.
