All Black Belts attending the Winter Sparring Tournament are required to attend at a least one of these judges trainings. Brown Belts must also attend one of these trainings in order to participate as a Brown Belt runner. The first hour of this training (3-4pm) will cover tournament style sparring, judging, scoring, safety protocol, rules, and expectations of Black and Brown Belts.
The second hour (4-5pm) will be open to all association students White Belt and above and will be run in a mock-tournament style format. Color Belt students will have a chance to practice their competition skills while receiving real-time feedback from instructors across the association. Black Belts will have the opportunity to practice corner judging, center refereeing, and/or head table judging, depending on their rank. Brown Belts will be able to practice time keeping, running supplies, and learning about leadership opportunities in a tournament setting.
These seminars are valuable learning experiences for all prospective competitors! We can’t wait to see you there!
