“Black Being” is a groundbreaking electro-acoustic exploration of the Black female experience.
Featuring composer-performer duo FLUTRONIX (Nathalie Joachim & Allison Loggins-Hull), this immersive performance honors Martin Luther King, Jr. with a unique blend of lighting, electronics, poetry, and flute soloists with orchestra.
This compelling modern duo are known for their fusion of classical music with hip-hop, electronic programming, and soulful vocals.
Newly commissioned texts by poet laureate Jaki Shelton Green give voice to the complexities of Black womanhood.
Truly a one-of-a-kind event celebrating influential creators and socially conscious changemakers!
Join us in the lobby at 6 PM for a special performance by Chicago Flute Club flutist/harp duo.
Stay for post-concert lobby entertainment by the talented young students of Hyde Park Suzuki Institute!
