Black Austin History Tours at the Oakwood Chapel

Angela Thornton will lead tours to talk about the Historic Colored Grounds and the burials that were segregated by race and class in the 1800s. There are many individuals buried in this section that represent Black excellence and are inspirations today. Angela can also tell you about the history of the Oakwood Chapel and show you our online resources that detail Black History in Austin.
