About this Event
Black August is more than history; it’s a reminder that the fight for our freedom isn’t over. What started in the 1970s inside California prisons has become a powerful tradition of honoring Black freedom fighters, political prisoners, and the legacy of resistance. This August, we’re coming together to remember those who came before us—and to keep pushing forward. We’re teaming up with Black People’s Coalition, Black Mothers in Power, Black Men Build, and Pr*son Riot Radio to host an event that honors the past and moves us toward collective action.
