This event is free and open to all, whether students, fine artists, or interested participants. (16+ is the recommended age for participation) Registration is required. https://tinyurl.com/3mfvdhjxThe University of Southern Indiana Art and Design Department will present the Black Art Workshop in partnership with the Evansville African American Museum, which is generously sponsored by Indiana Humanities.
The workshop will be from Friday, June 28, to Sunday, June 30.
Friday: Community Evening Reception
Workshop participants will meet with the artists and enjoy beverages and hors d’oeuvres.
Saturday: Workshop & Community Artist Reception
The workshop begins at 10 a.m. Two one-hour morning sessions will take place, followed by an hour for lunch. Sessions resume at 1 p.m. and last until 5 p.m.
At 7 p.m. artists and community members are invited for an artist meet and greet reception. All festivities end at 10 p.m.
Sunday: Studio Sessions & Panel Discussion
The workshop begins at noon and ends at 2 p.m. A panel discussion will occur from 3 to 5 p.m.
