Rebels, you are cordially invited to RRR's Black & White Noise Open Booth Day at Reel Rebels Studio
9th October, 12:00-20:00.

JOIN US IN THE REEL REBELS BOOTH!

Our radio station, rehearsal rooms and outdoor space will be open to guests and includes a sound and visual art exhibition by RRR's crew, live music by Tiece, DJ sets, talks and presentations on African-Caribbean heritage, hair, herbs plus live radio broadcasts and access to our recording facilities.

13:30 - Decolonising Herbalism: hosted by Seed SistAs: Karen and Fi are joined by a diverse panel to discuss the legacy of colonialism on herbalism and how to decolonise herbal medicine. BOOK HERE

15:00 - Caribbean Family Tree & Friendship Nucleus: Celebrating Kinship Care Week, Leon Clowes shares his Nan Kids project and presents associated spin-offs including artists Alicia Graham and Piyagarn Odunkwe's artistic interpretation of Alicia's extensive Caribbean Family Tree. BOOK HERE

ABOUT RRR'S TALKS:

All talks are recorded in front of a studio audience and need to be booked separaretly to the main event as space is limited. There are four ways you can take part:

Studio audience: If you want to be part of a small, live studio audience. Please register now. Booking a talk also includes access to the Black & White Noise Sound Art exhibition, DJs and other talks for you to enjoy. We suggest a £2-£5 donation for taking part in the talk on your arrival.

Join the conversation via Zoom: If you'd prefer, join us online and contribute via the chatroom on zoom. You'll receive your Zoom link after you've booked. Suggested donation £2 on booking but any amount is appreciated and reserves you a place in the live discussion.

Be on the panel and help lead the discussion: If you're in the Black haircare industry, a plant medicine practioner or have experience of kinship care and want to be a voice on the panel, please email: [email protected]
