About this Event
The BLACK 2025 Summit: Bringing Legacy, Advocacy & Cultural Knowledge is a two-day event that celebrates Black History Month and the International Decade for People of African Descent in Canada.
This conference will highlight the rich history, contributions, and future aspirations of Black Canadians while fostering dialogue, advocacy, and cultural exchange.
The objectives include:
- Celebrate and Honor: Recognize the achievements and contributions of Black Canadians throughout history.
- Promote Awareness: Increase public understanding of the International Decade for People of African Descent and its significance.
- Foster Dialogue: Provide a platform for discussing current issues affecting Black Canadians.
- Encourage Advocacy: Support initiatives and policies that promote equity and justice for Black communities.
- Build Networks: Facilitate connections among community members, scholars, activists, and policymakers.
T he conference is organized by the New African Canadians (NAC), a not-for-profit providing community-based mental health support, immigration and settlement assistance to individuals and families. BLACK 2025 is also a collaborative partnership with multiple stakeholders, community organizations and institutions.
