í miðjum draumnum sagði leikstjórinn við leikkonuna: draumarnir, eða draumurinn sjálfur - hann er the bull’s eye og ef mig misminnir ekki þá gerðist þetta meðan við leikkonan bísnuðumst við að laga lausa gólffjöl í gömlu viðarhúsi með stórum og björtum gluggum á alla kanta. ég man því miður ekki, hvernig mér leið inní húsinu.
en, ef ég ætti að reyna, núna, að útskýra hvað ég teldi leikstjórann hafa átt við þegar hann sagði það sem hann sagði, þá held ég að það hafi eitthvað að gera með:
tilfinningarnar, tilfinningasjálfið EÐA hugmyndirnar, sköpunarkraftinn, listamannasjálfið EÐA undirmeðvitundina, draumvitundina: þar umbreytast tilfinningar í hugmyndir, held ég, þar eru þær sannastar, næstar kjarnanum, næstar the bull’s eye
eða eitthvað þannig ..

the bull’s eye eftir bjarna daníel, er ný plata, eða ný samsetning á gömlum og glænýjum lagahugmyndum í bland, sem hafa orðið til á undanförnum þremur árum eða svo.
í anda leikstjórans úr draumnum er þessum hugmyndum miðlað nákvæmlega eins og þær komu af kúnni, upptökurnar á plötunni eru meira og minna fyrstu upptökur, lag gripið í þessu viðkvæma augnabliki þegar það er alveg að leka úr draumvitundinni inní veruleikann, alveg að verða til.
útgáfunni verður fagnað með tónleikum í mengi við óðinsgötu föstudaginn 28.mars.

in the middle of the dream the director spoke to the actress: “the dreams, or the dream itself, that is the bull’s eye” and if I remember correctly this took place as me and the actress tried in vain to fix a broken floorboard in an old wooden house with large bright windows on all sides. I don’t remember how being in the house made me feel.
but if I were to attempt now, to explain what I think the director might have meant when he said what he said, I think I’d say it could have something to do with:
the emotions, the emotional self OR the ideas, the creative power, the artist self OR the subconscious, the dream conscious: that is where emotions transform into ideas, I think, that is where they are the most true, closest to the core, closest to the bull’s eye.

the bull’s eye by bjarni daníel is a new album, or a new compilation (dump?) of old and brand new musical ideas, which have been coming into existence over the last three years or so.
in the spirit of the dream director these ideas are delivered precisely as they were conceived, the recordings are more or less the first recordings, songs captured in the tender moment when it is leaking from the dream consciousness into the reality, almost existing but not quite.
this release will be celebrated with a concert in mengi on friday march 28.
