Emma recently appeared on BBC's Winterwatch with the quest of finding a Bittern with the Winterwatch team, resulting in the successful recording of a Bittern through thermal imaging.This is a unique opportunity to experience one of the most elusive and rare birds in the UK* with early access to RSPB Old Moor. You are likely to hear the male Bittern Boom and whilst scanning the read bed, see Bittern activity.
Included in the price of the ticket is exclusive early hours access to the Bittern Hide, pastries fruit and hot drinks.
* Seeing a Bittern is not guaranteed, however the time of year for this event gives you a far better chance of seeing Bittern than the Winterwatch crew back in January.

Accessibility: Old Moor is on the Trans-Pennine Trail so is very accessible locally via foot or bike. Our paths are wheelchair and pushchair friendly and we have mobility scooters available to pre-book for your visit. We have accessible toilets and baby changing facilities. Dogs are welcome in the courtyard but not on the reserve itself.
