Please join Kelly Dungan, RN, BSN, RNC-OB, Spinning BabiesĀ® Approved Trainer, and Meg Heather Ford, Certified Doula and trained acupuncturist, for a two day experiential workshop offering in depth discussion and hands on support skills for labor & delivery nurses.

"BirthKeeper, RN: Reclaiming The Art Of Perinatal Nursing" asks the question: How does POWER influence what takes place in the birth room? We believe the role of the nurse as a birthkeeper is in working skillfully with both trauma and transformation--that is, mitigating/preventing/responding to trauma as well as facilitating the deeply transformational aspects of birth.

Day 1: Shifting towards a new paradigm of nursing practice

-How POWER influences what happens in the birth room

-The central role of the nurse in reimagining the healthcare system

-Techniques for communicating well with colleagues (even the narcissists!)

-From self care to community care, how to process TRAUMA in the birth room

-Nurse as BirthKeeper, how to reclaim birth as TRANSFORMATION

Day 2: Building your skills to effectively support physiologic birth

-How to track a labor: what to say, what to do, how to touch

-How the birth environment can make or break a labor

-Trauma informed cervical exams and why the nervous system is in charge

-Breathing techniques, visualizations, acupressure points, and more!

Participants will walk away with hands on/practical skills, communication tools, mindfulness practices, and a framework for shifting towards a new paradigm of birth.

Join a circle of nurses showing up for the future of birth!
