A two-day workshop for allied birth workers to learn about physiologic birth, pelvic biomechanics, pain management, and relaxation techniques. The workshop will also cover topics such as shared decision making, emotional and social considerations, trauma-informed care, and the roles of the birth team. Participants will have the opportunity to network and learn from Jodi, a skilled birth educator and advocate.SAVE THE DATE! Day One:
We learn about physiologic birth: specifically:
•how birth hormones support the birthing process
•what labor progression looks like (without putting your hands on someone)
•what baby's role is in birth and why this is so very important
We also learn:
•how to encourage clients to be active participants in their experience through shared decision making
•the emotional and social considerations around the perinatal Period
•what Trauma Informed Care looks like in the obstetrical environment
•who each member of the birth team is and what their specific contributions can be in supporting birth
Day Two:
In this class we learn about: Pelvic biomechanics and the Birthing Body
•we learn how to position the laboring and birthing body to best support the baby's journey through the pelvis
•pain management and relaxation techniques
