I want to help you tap into the potential that you already have within you as well as build your skills and knowledge so that you can confidently provide doula care to families in your community.
I go deeper than basic doula skills because just knowing how to do an amazing hip squeeze isn’t going to get you everything you need for a sustaining career. As a care provider, you are at risk of burn out. You need strong roots to keep on going and this is exactly why our curriculum goes deep. For instance, I include times of story sharing, discussion, and journaling as well as work to help you get to know yourself better. I want you to begin your doula career feeling grounded and supported.
Above all, my classes are an open and honest environment. I recognize that we all come from different backgrounds and experiences. I respect those differences as we share and learn together. It is my goal to create a peaceful energy that contains respect and sacredness for everyone in the room.
You are welcome to attend regardless of your life experiences or gender. No matter if you are healing from your own birth story, have a triumphant birth story, or no birth story at all. you belong.
After completing the interactive doula training with me, you will continue the doula certification process online with Birth Arts International. You will have direct support from BAI Global Director, Demetria Clark.

FAQ:
WHAT DOES IT INCLUDE?
Tuition includes the in-person class, E-Learning classroom, grading, and certification. There are never any re-certification or membership fees.
WHEN DO I NEED TO PAY?
To provide attention to my students I limit the number of attendees. Registering early is highly recommended as it is the only way to guarantee your spot in a class. Also, If a class has not reached the minimum by one month prior to class date then it will be canceled and anyone who has paid will be refunded in full or have the option to take a future class. This is another reason to register ASAP.
AM I A DOULA AFTER THE WEEKEND?
You will leave the training ready to provide doula support, and many of your assignments toward certification will be completed. You may begin to charge for your doula services after the class. You will still need to complete course requirements in order to be a Certified doula.
DOES ONLINE LEARNING COST EXTRA?
You never pay extra for the continued education online with Birth Arts International. If you take a class with me the online certification process is included.
CAN I ACCESS TO THE ONLINE CLASSROOM BEFORE THE CLASS?
You are welcome to start reading the book list ahead of the class. The online classroom will not be available until after our in-person training has been completed. Please contact me if you need access to the book list in advance.
IS BIRTH ARTS INTERNATIONAL RECOGNIZED IN MY STATE/COUNTRY?
BAI is an international organization and is recognized around the globe. Some states such as Oregon also recognize BAI as one of the qualified organizations for clients seeking Medicaid reimbursement. You will be able to practice in any home, birth center, or hospital setting that allows doulas.
DO YOU HELP ME FIND CLIENTS?
This training along with the online classroom supports students and includes assignments to help you run your business. You are independent and finding clients is up to you. However, we work hard to support you and help you feel confident and prepared so that you can connect with clients. BAI does keep a listing of our students who wish to be part of the directory for families seeking BAI doulas.
CAN I BRING MY CHILD TO THE TRAINING?
Nursing babies are welcome. I suggest that you have someone to care for your infant between feedings so that you can get the most from the class. It is very interactive and I wouldn’t want you to miss out on our hands on learning!
CAN I CROSS-CERTIFY?
We welcome you and recognize that you have already put a lot of hard work into your path as a doula. We will work with you on an individual basis after the workshop to take as much of your previous qualifications into consideration toward certifying with Birth Arts International
