BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – With the sixth overall pick in the 2023 NBA G League Draft, the Birmingham Squadron selected Pavel Savkov on Saturday afternoon. Savkov is a 6-7, 200-pound guard from Moscow, Russia who has played internationally since the 2018-19 season. During the 2022-23 year, Savkov played in three different Spanish leagues. The Birmingham Squadron open the 2023-24 season on Friday, Nov. 10 against the Austin Spurs for Hoops for Troops presented by Pearl River Resort.
