These walks offer the opportunities for non-members to bring the family and start walking in the countryside on walks led by Birmingham Ramblers members.
This is a linear 3.5 mile walk from Plants Brook Nature Reserve to Sutton Coldfield
Meet at the Square Peg, Birmingham, at 10.20 am for the X14 bus at 10.30 am towards Sutton Coldfield. Alight at Hanson Bridge Road, approximately 10.50 am.
For car drivers there is limited car parking at the entrance to Plants Brook Nature Reserve, on un-named road next to MTC garage off Eachelhurst Road. Meet at the entrance to the reserve 11am. Post code, B76 1DZ.
Our return is from Sutton Coldfield by X14 for city centre or Hanson Bridge Road to collect car. There are also frequent trains from Sutton to the city centre.

This leisurely flat, easy walk follows the Plants Brook northward, crossing from the nature reserve to Pype Hayes Hall Park, then continuing to New Hall Mill, a working, restored Mill sadly not currently open to the public. From there the route continues north by the Brook, diverting to the Parade at Sutton. Hopefully to relax at a pub before returning to the city centre. Note that there are no toilets on the route.
To ensure a fair distribution of places, priority will be given to members who did not walk on the previous Walk for the Public. If you have joined us on the previous Walk for the Public your booking will be accepted and you will be contacted by the walk coordinator a week before the walk to let you know if a place is available for you on this walk.
