About this Event
The General Strike in 1926 was a unique event in British History. Birmingham, as the second city, was closely involved in the strike as transport workers, print unions and others joined the miners in a national stoppage. Birmingham’s importance was such that every day the Cabinet in London received reports on the strength of worker-sentiment in the city. This talk looks at the causes,
duration and outcome of the strike in the city.
