The Birks Wilderness Film Festival is Back! 🛶🌊🦫⛰️📅 21 – 23 March 2025
Pack your bags for a weekend of adventure! 🎒
💬 “After the success of our first festival, we’re thrilled to be bringing the BWFF back to Aberfeldy for another year”, says Patty Havey, Cinema Manager and Film Programmer at The Birks Cinema. “We have once again found a wonderful and diverse selection of films that celebrate the outdoors."
🏴 The festival kicks off with an exciting selection of short films at our Opening Night—all about outdoor pursuits, with many Scotland-based filmmakers joining us for post-film Q&As.
🌊 On Saturday, dive into the thrills of engineless sailing, extreme kayaking, and big wave surfing, alongside Michael Powell’s 1937 classic, The Edge of The World, a drama set on St. Kilda.
🦫 The festival will close on Sunday with an inspiring Wilderness Survival Talk from Wilderness Folk School founder Steven Hanton. Then, wrap up the weekend with the wildly entertaining and critically acclaimed adventure comedy Hundreds of Beavers, followed by a Q&A with writer, producer, and film star Ryland Brickson Cole Tews.
Afterwards, enjoy Scottish Tapas🧀 courtesy of Thyme Deli & Bistro at Errichel. Plus, Dewar's Aberfeldy Distillery mixes up some delicious cocktails🥃 for this very special weekend.
