After our group talk ‘Our Birds & Rivers Unite Us’ by Vicki Whitworth, from Friends of the River Axe in May 2025, this is an area ready for us to explore. The estuary itself is a SSSI and a Marine Conservation Zone, rich in wildlife. The Lower Otter Restoration Project has further enhanced the area, making it a prime location for winter wildlife, observing otters and potentially beaver.
Please remember to bring sturdy footwear, waterproofs and a packed lunch (if an all day trip). Note: there is a charge for non-group members of £4 adults, 24 years and under free.
