Join Historic Columbia and local birder John Tjaarda every second Thursday of the month for a free, guided bird walk around the Hampton-Preston Gardens to learn about the many local and migratory birds in Columbia. Bring your binoculars and learn how to identify birds by sight, sound, and behavior. The Hampton-Preston Gardens host over 100 bird species throughout the year, providing a great opportunity to observe and learn about our feathered friends at HC.
The bird walk is free, however, registration is required. This event is capped at 20 participants.
Please dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes. Binoculars are recommended but not required.
Registered attendees will be notified via email if the event is cancelled due to inclement weather, such as high winds or rain. Please meet at the front gate of the Hampton-Preston Mansion Gardens, located on Blanding Street.
