About this Event
Join Robin Roberts on a bird walk along the Desert View and Nature Trails in Long Valley at about 8400 feet looking for birds such as the White-headed Woodpecker, Clark's Nutcracker, Red-breasted Sapsucker, Cassin's Finch, Violet-green Swallows, and more. Robin loves to share her passion about birds, leading walks far and wide in every ecological niche. She regularly participates in bird surveys with the Forest Service in Idyllwild and wherever there is an opportunity and seeks to introduce others to the joy of birding through classes, presentations, and photography as illustrated in her beautiful nature blog - Be sure to check it out! .......and finally, Robin is a delightful lady! THE DETAILS:
- Leader: Robin Roberts, MA Biology, Miami University, San Diego Zoo Global, Bird leader/presenter/photographer/nature blog -
- Date and Time: Saturday, June 23, 8:30 am-11:30 am ( for instructions on purchasing Tram tickets and arriving on time) Remember receive a 20% discount on Tram tickets.
- Meet at: 3rd floor terrace at the top of outdoor stairs one floor up from the 2nd floor Mountain Station tram terminal. Look for this lady pictured below.
- Preparation: At least 1 liter of water, sturdy shoes, snack, binoculars (also available to loan at 1st floor Visitor Center) Hat, sun screen, bird check list (available at the NHA Visitor Center).
- Hike Level: Easy, mostly trail walk
- Class Size: Limit: 12
