Birds take their cues to sing their songs during the longer days of hot weather.
The program will be led by Hannibal Parks and Recreation’s Interpreter Guide Gale Rublee and members of the Mississippi Hills Missouri Master Naturalist chapter.
Participants should meet at the parking lot past 10115 County Road 410 (sometimes called River Road) below Riverview Park. Rublee also suggested those interested to download the Merlin Birding App to identify bird calls. She said, “Which birds do we see throughout the summer? Are they as vocal as in the spring? Come practice your birding skills and see if there’s different birds along the river than what are at Sodalis and other parts of Hannibal.”
Programs are free and open to the public but participation is limited. Register for space at www.hannibalparks.recdesk.com/Community/Program
