Meet the team

Ed Dominguez - Ed has served as the Lead Naturalist at the Seward Park Audubon Center since 2011. A Native of Mt. Shasta California, Ed obtained his Bachelors and Masters degrees from California State University. He then moved to Seattle to work on his PhD at University of Washington. Knowledgeable in geology, trees, wildflowers, and mammals, Ed particularly enjoys birds and birdsongs. He is passionate about sharing the wonders of nature with others and is skilled in teaching to children and adults.

Jim Labayen - Jim is an Education Specialist at Bike Works, working with adults and older youth on bicycle repair and job skills. He grew up in the Puget Sound area, learning to be a steward of the outdoors after taking many nature photography trips with his dad. Jim believes that bicycling is beautiful because it can mean so many different things to people. For him, it is a powerful community building tool and an excuse to eat more sugary treats!

Kyle Spragens - Kyle is WDFW’s Waterfowl Section Manager, and is originally from the northern San Francisco Bay area. After graduating from Humboldt State University, Kyle has worked with a wide range of partners throughout the Pacific Flyway, and internationally, to help understand more about ducks, geese, and swans. He enjoys spending time with his family exploring the great outdoors… and watching waterfowl.
