Adam Peck will be speaking about Rehabilitating Roe 8, a community led urban restoration success story. Adam has worked in NRM/conservation for 20 years, including revegetation research and the Aboriginal Ranger Program at DBCA, Black-Cockatoo monitoring with BirdLife Australia, and currently works as Rehabilitating Roe 8 Project Manager at the City of Cockburn. He is passionate about community land custodianship and restoring land for biodiversity.
Ella Staple is currently finalising her Honours degree at Murdoch University, under the supervision of Dr Rochelle Steven, Dr Gerald Page and Dr Joe Fontaine. Her Honours project is exploring urban birds in Greater Perth, with a special interest in the garden attributes that support the highest species richness and abundance. In a time when it can feel hopeless to know how best to support our birds, Ella's research can provide key insights into the small steps we can take in our own gardens that have been demonstrated to benefit birds right here in Perth.
The meeting is open to all and entry is by gold coin donation, light refreshments will be available.
