Ronan O'Carra will be visiting us Saturday, November 9th at 10AM for a presentation on how to use Merlin & eBird to become a better, more confident birder! This presentation is FREE and so are the apps that he will be discussing. Ronan O'Carra previously lived in Ireland and has been a Kentucky resident for over 20 years. He is an eBird reviewer for Central Kentucky, evaluating sightings and proposals for hotspots. He has also been one of many to work to train the AI in Merlin.
O'Carra is the editor of the Kentucky Warbler, a journal of the Kentucky Ornithological Society where he also compiles seasonal reports. He is a member of the Kentucky Bird Records Committee and is responsible for coordinating their social media and online presence.
Locally he is a board member of the Central Kentucky Audubon Society and leads walks with them among other responsibilities. O'Carra also works at Raven Run Nature Sanctuary where he leads monthly bird walks (more during migration periods) and he is also available across the Parks Department on any bird-related matters.
