About this Event
I am excited to invite you to a special birding event at the Ventura Settling Ponds on Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, hosted by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and in collaboration with the Oxnard Birders Club. The Ventura Settling Ponds are home to over 300 bird species, including Yellow-crowned Night Herons, pelicans, cormorants, and warblers. These man-made ponds, used for wastewater treatment, attract a variety of birdlife and offer stunning views. You'll explore different ponds, including Snoopy Pond, known for its herons, and the Cypress Tree Trail, perfect for spring and fall migratory species. Our morning will begin with welcome remarks and land a awknolwedgment at 9:00 AM, followed by a guided bird walk at 9:30 AM. We'll explore the various ponds, including Snoopy Pond with its heron roost, and the Cypress Tree Trail, ideal for spotting spring migratory birds. The event will conclude by 11:00 AM with light refreshments.
