The long days and warm temperatures of summer may be behind us, but there’s still plenty of ways to go birdwatching this winter. In fact, winter birding comes with its own unique set of opportunities to both discover new bird species, and contribute to science and conservation through those observations.Join Seth Chapman, Apothecary Manager and experienced birder, for a workshop detailing what birding can look like through the winter in Michigan, and what opportunities arise to keep you engaged in birding. From exciting new species to observe, to participating in bird counts, there’s no shortage of ways to engage in birding, and this workshop will show you the way.
This workshop will leave you with a roadmap for birding through the winter. Whether you prefer birding from your kitchen window, going on a short walk, or tracking down that unique or rare species, there’s something for everybody!
These classes are a great support for birding hikes, which take place in Kleinstuck Preserve during the warmer months.
