You will learn about the importance of the Great Backyard Bird Count and how you can enjoy participating in it yourself, regardless of your birding experience! About Your Program Instructor
Since retiring in 2004, Herb Lewis has dedicated himself to landscaping, birding, and photography. Over the past 21 years, he has channeled his knowledge and experience into creating a natural wildlife habitat within his own backyard garden to attract native and migrating birds. Herb is an Honorary Master Gardener, serving as an instructor for Master Gardener classes covering three counties, and he has provided workshops for the annual Alabama Audubon Mountain Workshop. Herb and his wife Terry sponsored and helped develop the Lewis Birding Trail at the Huntsville Botanical Garden, where he also serves as a volunteer docent.
