Birding and Naturalist Led Walking Meditation

Join us for a nature walk! Led by Pasadena Humane wildlife staff (Certified California Naturalists), participants are invited to walk the JPL/Devil’s Gate Dam loop while learning to identify native plants and local birds. Embrace a slow and mindful pace to practice following your breath and being present in your body as you connect with the other living things on the trail.

We encourage the sharing of knowledge with people of all experience levels. We also encourage using community science tools such as ebird, Merlin Bird ID, and iNaturalist apps and will assist those who would like to utilize them on their phones. Bring your own scopes/binoculars/cameras. We will also provide limited field guidebooks.

This walk is suitable for all ages. Please note that the walk is approximately three miles long with minor elevation changes, uneven and unpaved ground, and some stairs.

Look for a large Pasadena Humane van. Carpooling, biking or public transport is encouraged.
