New and experienced birders are invited to sharpen their skills at Birding 101 with the Rio Brazos Audubon Society on Saturday, Oct. 4, at 8:30 a.m. The class meets at the Gary Halter Nature Center and includes a hike along Lick Creek Park’s trails.Participants will learn to identify birds by sight and sound, use field guides and binoculars, and explore the Brazos Valley’s native and migrating species. Dress for the outdoors and wear closed-toed shoes.
This program has been offered for more than a decade thanks to the dedication of Rio Brazos Audubon Society volunteers. Binoculars are available to borrow at the Gary Halter Nature Center.
