About this Event
Bird Service combine diverse musical influences (indie, rock, funk, reggae) with the rhythms of Brazil and that’s where you will find Norwich 6-piece, Bird Service. With hooky melodies and driving rhythms, their quirky songs reflect on life, love and the modern world. The band grew out of carnival group, Rabo de Foguete, bringing the upside-down world and energy of carnival to their music. A first album, ...More or Less, was released in 2021 and they are currently working on material for a new album for 2025, including music for a new street show, the King of Rust, which will premiere in May.
Bird Service are Marcus Patteson (voice + guitar), Jake Hishon (drums), Bill Skipp (lead guitar), Vilem Hais (bass guitar), David Osborne (Trumpet) and David Ingham (Tenor Sax).
Bella Askew, with relaxed yet powerful vocals, creates a fusion of original Fantasy Folk and Neo Soul. Rich tones and soul deep melodies accompany songs that are confessional and personal stories. On this occasion, she will be sharing the stage with saxophonist Dom Trevor adding a lush, jazz-infused groove that elevates her sound to the next level.
