About this Event
At Wichita Creative Co summer film camps, local filmmakers and high school students join together to create a film from scratch in just two weeks! This year's effort is Bird Girl, the story of Iz, a teenager dragged into a quest to save "her bird," the White Crested Yellowbill Turnfisher. Together with her friends Star and Abe they must traverse the dangers of the wildlife preserve: park rangers, pumas, teenage angst, bad hair, college plans, tall trees, and the questions of their own identities.
The film has a 50 minute runtime and will be followed by a talkback with the cast and crew, as well as our WCC awards for the incredible work of our summer campers!
