Johnson County was recently recognized as a Bird Friendly Iowa community by the international Bird City Network. Thanks to the efforts of many dedicated organizations, volunteers, and municipalities all working to support birds and educate our community, Johnson County was the first applicant to receive “high flyer” status on the initial application! This is the highest-level achievement status a community can attain. To date, no other community in Iowa has attained High Flyer Status with its initial application. Please join us at our upcoming Bird Friendly Iowa Dedication Ceremony and Community Celebration! Stay for the whole event or drop by for one of the speaker events or presentations.
