About this Event
BIPOC Therapist Social
Come join us at McCarren Parkhouse for a BIPOC Therapist Social!
This is an opportunity for BIPOC Therapists to breathe, share, and be in community with others who understand the unique weight we carry in this work. So often, we pour into others while holding the complexities of our identities, often in isolation. But healing work isn’t meant to happen alone.
Whether you're a seasoned therapist, just starting out, or somewhere in between, you are welcome here.
We’ll be joined by an inspiring guest speaker:
Ana Coreas (she/her), Bilingual Latinx Mental Health Counseling Student
Teachers College, Columbia University
My name is Ana Coreas, and I'm Salvadoran-American. I'm a first-generation student in my second year at Teachers College, Columbia University, in the bilingual Latinx mental health counseling program. I aspire to become a culturally informed therapist who not only provides counseling that aligns with a client's values/beliefs but also uses cultural practices to help guide their healing. I'm currently applying these values in my work as an intern counselor at NMIC. I primarily work with Latinx and other BIPOC who have struggled with problems related to grief, domestic violence, and trauma/complex trauma. My name is Ana Coreas, and I'm Salvadoran-American.
