About this Event
In this workshop we will explore the theory, vision and practical potential of bioregional food systems of tomorrow , and how we can begin building them today!
A bioregion is an ecologically distinct area of land such as a valley or catchment area and human societies, tribes and cultures have been organised in line with this for most of our history . Re-alinging this place based ecology, design and belonging is key to our survival and thriving as a species. Bioregional thinking is also key to regenerating our food systems and creating real resilience , healthy landscapes and people scapes.
the workshop will include:
- Introductions to Food Systems
- UK food context and policy
- Regional food systems and community-led growing
- Producer co-operatives
- Land access and securing parcels for regeneration
- Training and inspiration
- Movement building
- Identity as place-based Regenerators
The workshop will be located in our earth floor classroom on the farm in the new solar barn - a beautiful learning space with views over the farm, and a delicious lunch from the land included !
We have sliding scale ticket pricing options available, with supported tickets for low income individuals or new entrant growers. Please get in touch if you have any dietary or other needs for the workshops! We look forward to welcoming you to the farm and taking the regenerative leap together!
