For Kids:
Mika just found a locked box and five plane tickets to the Biomes of the World! Join Mika and the animals of the biomes as you travel to each destination. On the adventure, you will go through each biome to try and find clues that will help her open the locked box. As you go to each biome look out for clues, but be careful because the animals of the biomes want the secrets of the box to stay locked! Will you be able to uncover all the clues needed to unlock the box?
For Parents:
In this series of challenges, your child will adventure around the globe learning about the continents, oceans, and biomes worldwide. They’ll work together to find clues and solve puzzles that teach them about biomes, solve problems, and how to collaborate with others. We’ll look at the biomes using books such as Many Biomes, One Earth, by Sneed B. Collard III, What if there were no bees?, by Susan Slade, and The Tree of Life, by Rochelle Strauss. We’ll practice the following academic skills: geography, maps and map keys, plants, animals, weather, adaptations, problem-solving, and basic math skills.
Ages 2-4 (5 spots available) Ages 5-7 (10 spots available) Ages 8-11 (15 spots available)

What is a challenge quest? A challenge quest focuses on 21st century skills such as problem solving, collaboration, outside-the-box and critical thinking, and innovation. This set of activities introduces a problem or mystery in a story-like journal and allows free exploration to discover new knowledge and to use tools in a different / new way. Challenges integrate academics with a child’s natural curiosity and creativity while teaching life skills via our Maker Lab Studios. Learners have an intrinsic desire to learn new things and gain new skills because we focus on one’s personal best. We encourage trying. We establish that mistakes are okay and we can learn from them. Learners build, deepen, or cement understanding by making. We define the learning goals and provide structure, scaffolds, and support for learners in the Challenge Quest Journal. We provide a Challenge Kit and sometimes an alias that aligns with the story characters.
