Bio Ritmo, a 10-piece salsa band from Richmond, VA, has been active for over 30 years. Known for their innovative blend of classic salsa dura and experimental sounds, they've earned global acclaim as salsa pioneers. Formed in 1991 by Jorge Negron and friends, including lead vocalist Rei Alvarez, the band evolved from performing salsa classics to creating original compositions. Their mix of brass and Puerto Rican percussion reflects the 1970s salsa revival, maintaining a focus on energetic dance music despite lineup changes.
