About this Event
Is your child fascinated by electronics? Would they like to learn to code? Are they keen to make and create working models?
This summer, Accessible Coders and Singleton Environment Centre have teamed up to run a meaningful coding session for children.
At this drop and leave session your child will learn the effects of climate change and the positive impact reducing, reusing and recycling our rubbish can make. Once we've learnt the importance of why we'll begin designing and creating a fun means of encouraging and promoting correct waste management.
Your child will:
- design their own unique 'Bin Bot' - a rubbish collecting mini robot
- build their design using recyclable materials
- learn how to use sensor controls and sound effects in electronics
- build the electronic controls with simple coding
- receive tips and tricks from The Accessible Coders
- take home their completed working bin robot creation
This event is a drop and leave session so adults can enjoy some time to themselves and be amazed at their child's creation at pick up! The Footprints Cafe is open at the centre if you wish to enjoy a coffee and cake whilst you wait!
This event is suitable for ages 6 years +.
Accessible Coders received funding from the National Lottery to support this event. All resources required to create each Bin Bot is included.
