BILYK FINANCIAL PRESENTS CFCW’S HEARTSTRINGS & HONKY TONKS
Nashville. Music City. Home to legendary music venues like the Grand Ole Opry House, The Ryman Auditorium, Tootsies, and of course the BlueBird Cafe. As a songwriter each one of these world-famous establishments holds a special place in the heart of every songwriter in the world. They are goals, steppingstones, and milestones in the pursuit of the ultimate goal of sharing music with the world and hearing it live on the radio.
After an inaugural sold out season in 2024, the Heartstrings & Honky Tonks series returns in 2025 with another series of incredible shows that will allow both the artists and audience to be part of something truly special as the performances are broadcast live on 840 AM radio. These events will be hosted by CFCW’s own Jackie Rae and will take place in theaters in Sherwood Park, Fort Saskatchewan, St. Albert, Camrose, and Bonnyville Alberta as we continue to celebrate more than 70 years of CFCW radio.
This historic evening of live music will be set in a traditional Nashville style songwriters round, often also called a guitar pull.
These sessions will feature incredible songwriters as they share their stories and take the audience on an emotional journey singing both songs they have written, performed the way they were originally intended, along with songs that hold a special place in their own heart.
Once again award winning and platinum selling co-writers, and longtime friends Dan Davidson and Clayton Bellamy will lead most of these events as they bring their Nashville experiences north of the border.
Along with Dan & Clayton each night will feature additional songwriters in each city including some surprise and local guests. Rounding out the entire roster of artists slated for these shows are Aaron Goodvin, Duane Steele, George Fox, Hailey Benedict, Jake Mathews, Kelsi Mayne, Kalsey Kulyk, Michelle Wright, Morgan Klaiber, Nice Horse and Patricia Conroy with special guest appearances by local artists Calle-Rae &Hayzley Rivard, Delta Sweet, Jessie Bird, Kory Wlos & Olivia Rose.

On November 2, 1954, a spunky 250-watt Alberta radio station signed on the air in Camrose Alberta. It was destined to become Canada’s first full-time country music station – and a bona fide legend. Seventy years later, two frequency changes, and 50,000 watts later, 840 CFCW continues to be Alberta’s Country Legend.
