Billy Ocean
Billy Ocean is the biggest black recording star Britain has ever produced, having sold over 30 million records to date. His career boasts a collection of Gold and Platinum records worldwide, and he's topped charts across the globe including the USA, Australia, Germany, Holland, and the UK. Billy's success spans both as an artist and a songwriter.
Born in Trinidad, Billy settled in London’s East End at the age of seven. His early musical influences included soul legends like Otis Redding and Sam Cooke, as well as iconic pop groups like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. This passion led him to spend much of his youth in the music room.
Billy's breakthrough came with GTO Records, where his second single "Love Really Hurts Without You" reached No. 2 in the UK and No. 12 in the US. He followed up with hits like "Love on Delivery," "Stop Me," and "Red Light Spells Danger," which achieved success in both the UK and the US. Switching to Jive Records brought instant fame with the million-selling, Grammy-winning single "Caribbean Queen," followed by hits like "Loverboy" and "Suddenly," which launched his career into the stratosphere.
Billy's prominence continued with performances at Live Aid in 1985 and a string of hits in 1986, including the chart-topping "There’ll be Sad Songs (To Make You Cry)" and "Get Outta My Dreams; Get Into My Car." Known for his dynamic live performances, Billy toured tirelessly to increasingly enthusiastic audiences worldwide.
After years of global success, Billy took a break to focus on family but returned to the stage in 2007 with a successful tour featuring his daughter Cherie on backing vocals. This reignited his passion for music, leading to the release of new albums like "Because I Love You" in 2009 and "The Very Best of Billy Ocean" in 2010. In 2016, his album "Here You Are" debuted at No. 4 on the charts, marking his highest chart position since 1988.
Billy continued to tour extensively through 2017, playing shows across the globe and releasing the "Here You Are" album in the USA. In 2018, he achieved a career milestone with a sold-out show at The Royal Albert Hall, which he considered a landmark moment. He has since maintained a busy schedule, touring and releasing his latest album, 'One World'.
Billy Ocean's enduring career is a testament to his talent and the timeless appeal of his music, which continues to captivate audiences around the world.

The Spinners
Timeless in a way that few other acts can claim, The Spinners are one of the most iconic and enduring groups in R&B history. Their towering legacy spans over six decades, highlighted by their recent induction into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in 2023.
The quintet originated in Detroit at Tri-Phi Records in 1961, later merging into Motown. They found their stride at Atlantic Records in 1972 under the guidance of producer Thom Bell in Philadelphia, defining the smooth sound of Philadelphia Soul. Their catalog boasts classic hits like “I’ll Be Around,” “Could It Be I’m Falling In Love,” “Then Came You,” and “The Rubberband Man,” earning them six Grammy nominations, 18 Platinum and Gold Albums, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Their songs have resonated across generations, solidifying their place in the American songbook.
While The Spinners epitomized Philly Soul in the 1970s, they continued to evolve, blending Motown and Philly influences into what became known as the “MotownPhilly” soul sound. Hits like “Working My Way Back To You” and “Cupid” topped charts, further cementing their legacy.
In 2023, The Spinners made headlines with a notable donation of over 400 stage uniforms to the Motown Museum and a memorable appearance at the Kennedy Center Honors, where they performed alongside Mickey Guyton in tribute to Dionne Warwick. Their enduring popularity is evident in sold-out shows globally and a dedicated fan base that continues to cherish their music.
As they celebrate their 70th year, The Spinners remain cultural icons, leaving an indelible impact on music history and the hearts of millions of fans worldwide.
