The Rhode Island State Archives will hold a special viewing ofRhode Island's copy of the Bill of Rights on September 17, Constitution Day, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Rhode Island's copy of the Bill of Rights, the first amendments to the US Constitution, was sent to Rhode Island in 1789. The document is too large for regular display but will be available for public viewing in recognition of Constitution Day. This unique draft copy is actually slightly different from today's Constitution. See it in person and try to spot the differences!
We encourage all Rhode Islanders to take advantage of this rare opportunity and see this document in person.
