Otterbein has held an annual collection since 2005. Bikes for the World “re-cycles” used bikes and sewing machines to transform lives. It is a partnership established with volunteers, community groups and businesses to collect, process, and donate bikes shipped to non-profits around the world. Bikes for the World maintains an effective system to repurpose and channel bikes to people in remote villages who rely on them: for health workers to reach patients, students to get to school and workers to get to work.
