You will learn how to use a mobile "app" developed by DOMI, which you can use with your advocacy group or on your own to gather data about the sidewalks in your neighborhood. BikePGH and the citywide pedestrian advocacy group Pittsburgh Walks is collaborating with DOMI to use data collected by volunteers like you to create a map of sidewalk quality across the whole City which will be used to identify what sidewalks need to be built or improved, prioritize pedestrian infrastructure projects, and make the case for funding. We need your help to make that possible!
Weather permitting, this gathering will feature a short walk for a few blocks around the venue to practice using the Sidewalk Survey tool. Please bring a mobile device with internet access if possible.
We'll also share updates on advocacy opportunities and infrastructure projects happening across the city.
