Join Bike Lakewood, Mayor George, and members of Lakewood City Council on a ride in our community! Riders of all ages and abilities are invited to come meet their local leaders and share their experiences with bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure in our city.The “Bike with a Mayor” series aims to provide residents with the opportunity to meet and engage in physical activity with their elected leaders while also learning about their city’s dedication to providing safe bike routes and trails for year-round enjoyment. Lakewood recently adopted a Complete Streets Ordinance to supplement the Active Transportation Plan, which envisions a complete and connected network for people walking and biking that provides year-round access to local amenities, resources, and the regional bicycle and pedestrian network.
This year’s route will travel down our two major commercial corridors, Detroit Ave and Madison Ave, as well as highlighting some of the recent improvements the city has made to the Hilliard/Madison intersection, and some unique traffic calming measures on some of our residential streets.
The ride will begin at 6:00 PM at Kauffman Park (15450 Detroit Ave, Lakewood, OH 44107) and cover various parts of the city spanning roughly 5 miles. A map and link to the route are below.
