Anybody want to ride their bicycle from the twin cities to Duluth? Let’s go! It’s about 170 miles from Minneapolis proper to the lift bridge. It’s real flat. Mostly bike path, but a couple stretches of road. A reasonable rider can do this in about 13-15 hours (with a big stop at the Pine City Dairy Queen!)Come on… do it!
Want to train for the DAMn? Just want to do something epic? Want to see what you’re capable of!? Then this is for you. You will see some of the most beautiful parts of the state along with plenty of monotonous farmland and roadway. This is a challenge of body and mind! You don’t need to be an athlete but you should probably get a few rides in before this one.
This is nothing more than a mass start at Van Cleve park in Minneapolis. FULLY SELF-SUPPORTED! You will never be too far from highway 35 so if you need to bail you’ll never be too far from civilization. Ride at your own risk, ride at your own pace.
100% paved surface, road or gravel bikes are ideal.
Please see the discussion page for current route information and/or to arrange a ride back with other, on bike or otherwise. This is super informal for the inaugural year so you are on you own.
If you’ve done this ride before please share your experience here for those who are curious!
