Bike School: Mechanical Disc Brake Adjustment and Pad Replacement

Disc brakes—they stop on a dime, they don’t wear out your rims… Now if only there was a way to keep them from squeaking and to make sure those pads aren’t getting too worn down! Oh wait—there is. This class will focus on replacing brake pads on disc brake systems (mechanical, not hydraulic), troubleshooting wonky noises, keeping an eye on wear, and preventing contamination. Class participants have the option to replace their worn brake pads in class with new ones--budget an additional $20 for new brake pads. Plan to get a little grubby, work in pairs and have fun!
