USA BMX Headquarters to Gathering Place Ride!
*Note: to participate in the ride, you must be a current Bike Club volunteer with a background check on file, head to www.bikeclubtulsa.com/volunteer.php to sign up! We encourage others to cheer on students along the route such as on Archer between Greenwood Ave and Denver Ave or near Gathering Place on the River Parks trail.
Bike Club Tulsa's 2024-25 End-of-Year Bike Club Rally scheduled for Wednesday, May 14th from 9:30am - 2:00pm (ride time ~11:00am-Noon). This event is a culmination of our year's efforts, aimed at bringing together students from all 31 elementary Bike Clubs to celebrate their achievements and enjoy a rewarding field trip. The journey begins at the USA BMX Headquarters and finishes at the Gathering Place, promising an exciting adventure.
Thanks to the generous support from Tulsa Public Schools, Humble Sons Bike Company, USA BMX, Gathering Place, Two Men and a Truck, Tulsa Police Department, Tulsa River Parks, among others, participants will have the unique opportunity to connect with fellow Bike Club members, watch an exhilarating BMX demonstration, enjoy a 4.3-mile ride through downtown and River Park trails, and explore the Gathering Place.
Gathering Place visit: Once students arrive from their 4.3-mile ride from USA BMX utilizing city streets and River Park trails, they will enjoy lunch at Reading Tree hillside near Williams Lodge. Afterwards, students will have free time to explore the Chapman Adventure Playground – In this five-acre kingdom, kids can let their imaginations run wild by exploring the playground’s signature towers, slides, climbing features, play gardens and more. After playtime is over, students will meet back at the Williams Lodge for a treat before returning to school.
Event Timeline (Wednesday, May 14th):
• 8:00-9:30 a.m. – Deliver bicycles to USA BMX, staged in main parking lot.
• 9:15 a.m. – Start busing students from each school.
• 10:15 a.m. – Buses drop-off on USA BMX Plaza.
• 10:15-10:45 a.m. – Students watch Pro(s) do a few laps on indoor track.
• 10:45-11:00 a.m. – Club photos.
• 11:00-12:00 p.m. – Ride to Gathering Place arriving at Bike Drop-Off Zone (east parking lot).
• 12:00-12:30 p.m. – Lunch on Reading Tree hillside east of Williams Lodge.
• 12:30-1:15 p.m. – Playtime at Chapman Adventure Playground.
• 1:15-1:35 p.m. – Ice cream treat back at Reading Tree hillside.
• 1:35-1:50 p.m. – Load buses and leave for return trip to schools.
